250 people lose their sight daily in the UK. One person every six minutes.

Guide Dogs UK is widely recognised for their iconic guide dogs, but their impact goes far beyond that. We hope that by choosing them as our Charity of the Year, with your support we can help raise awareness and vital funds for the incredible work they do.

For over 90 years, they've been transforming lives through a wide range of services designed to support people living with sight loss. From children and young people to adults and families, their expert staff and volunteers help thousands across the UK live actively, independently, and with confidence.

More than just life-changing dogs

In addition to providing over 4k+ guide dog partnerships, did you know Guide Dogs UK also offers:

  • Specialist support for children and young people, including habilitation services and tailored mobility training.
  • Technology and digital skills training to help people with sight loss stay connected and independent.
  • Emotional and practical support for individuals and families adjusting to vision impairment.
  • Campaigning and advocacy to create a more inclusive society where everyone can participate fully.
  • Community-based services that include buddying, peer support, and orientation training, many of which don't involve dogs at all.

As the world's largest guide dog organisation and the only UK charity to breed and train guide dogs, they are also global leaders in puppy socialisation and dog training.

Guide Dogs UK is almost entirely funded by donations, which is why your support really matters.

Golf Before It Gets Dark

A winter golf challenge supporting Guide Dogs UK.

As daylight hours disappear, we're challenging golfers to do the opposite - get out early and see how much golf you can play before it gets dark. Choose to play 18, 36 or even 54 holes in a single day, all while raising vital funds to help people with sight loss live more independent lives.

Open to individuals, golf days and clubs, this is a flexible challenge you can take on throughout the winter months.
